Cornwall's Award Winning, Acappella Sound!
Acappella Sound is a fun, vibrant and contemporary group of treble voices that come together to create a cappella harmonies. Located in the beautiful village of Ladock , they rehearse in the spacious Community Hall, a very central location between Truro, St Austell, Newquay and Bodmin on a Monday evening from 7.00 – 9.00pm.
The chorus since lockdown has grown from approx 20 singers in June 2020 when it met outside in the carpark, carefully measured to 2 feet apart - to its current membership of over 80 singers of all ages and abilities, which has really helped the chorus to discover its Roar! They love to see each other and connect through singing, laughing and being the mad group that they naturally are. They are very proud of their family feel and make everyone who comes along feel welcome and supported.
As a non-auditioned group, their motto is ‘If you love to sing, would love to sing or not even sure if you can sing – come and give it go.’ Even offering 4 weeks of singing free to anyone new, who want to try it. They regularly perform out and about in Cornwall and beyond and love to entertain and inspire others to find their voices.
Check out the events page for more details. They are part of the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers (LABBS) and decided to compete for the first time in their national competition in Bournemouth 2024, taking an impressive 64 singers on stage – 81% of whom had never competed at this level before, making them very proud of their 16th place and winning the Harmony Inspires Trophy for the highest placed chorus, with the most amount of new singers on stage.
